Warm-up

Warm-up is the practice of starting with a low sending volume and raising it step by step, so mailbox providers see a steady pattern rather than a sudden burst.

Why it matters when you send from your own Gmail

Google's own advice is to start with a low sending volume to engaged users and slowly increase it.[1] Inside Honest Intros this is built in: a mailbox starts at 20 emails a day and rises by 10 each sending day to a ceiling of 50, and a personal Gmail address stays at 20. Warm-up here means a ramp on real emails, not mail exchanged with other tools to look busy.

Example

Day one: 20 emails. Day two: 30. Day three: 40. From day four: 50 at most. If bounces appear, the cap is halved and climbs back as clean days pass.

What to do

Stay under the daily cap even if the first days go well, and send on working days. If you stop for a week or two, restart lower than where you left off.
