How to use it
- Choose the kind of mailbox. A personal Gmail has no company domain reputation of its own, so it stays at 20 a day.
- Pick the day you will send your first email, and the number of emails a day you want to reach.
- Read the plan. Each row is one sending day. The day you reach your target is at the top.
Weekdays only by default, because cold email sent on a weekend is read less. Tick the box to count weekends.
What good looks like
This is the rule Honest Intros follows when it sends for you: 20 emails on the first sending day, ten more each sending day, and never more than 50 a day. A personal Gmail stays at 20. A mailbox that sends nothing for a while starts low again, because a sudden jump from nothing is what filters notice.
The ramp counts sending days, not calendar days, so a plan that skips weekends takes a little longer on the calendar. Our guide to warming up your own Gmail explains why slow is safe.
This is our own sending rule, not a schedule Google publishes: Google gives limits, not a warm-up plan.
Questions
How many cold emails can I send per day from Gmail?
Google's limits are far higher than a safe cold email rate: about 500 a day for a personal account and 2,000 for Google Workspace. We send at most 50 a day because reputation, not the limit, decides whether you reach the inbox.
How long does it take to warm up a mailbox?
On our rule, three sending days to reach 40 a day and four to reach 50: 20 on the first day, then ten more each sending day, capped at 50. A personal Gmail stays at 20.
Does warming up mean sending to my own addresses?
No. Our ramp is a rising number of real first emails, each written for the person who gets it. Sending to yourself in a loop teaches filters nothing and looks like what it is.
